Pike Place Market

I used the produce at Pike Place Market in Seattle to test out my Canon G12.  The colors and textures are impressively captured for a point and shoot camera.

Frank's Dinner-Spokane WA

We love dinners so we try to seek them out whenever we travel. We found Frank's in Spokane and loved it. It is a remodeled old train car with great decore and very good food. Canon G12 auto.

Manito Park-Spokane WA

Manito Park in Spokane WA covers over 90 acres and is broken into various areas. This was in the Japanese garden area which was truely beautiful. Shot taken with Canon 7D and Sigma 18-250mm lens. f/6.3 apeture for 1/160 sec exposure and ISO-320. 18mm focal length, sunlight WB and center weighted average.

Lost Tales

In the west things are rarely torn down...they are just left to eventually crumble and be reclaimed by the landscape. I am always drawn to the countless old barns and homesteads I come across and wonder what stories they hold. This great place was in eastern WA between Moscow ID and Spokane WA. Shot with Canon 7D and Sigma 18-250mm lens. f/13 aperture for 1/50 sec exposure and ISO-125. 63mm focal length, sunlight WB and center weighted average.

Farm life

The old barn and out buildings were shot using Canon 7D and Sigma 18-250mm lens. f/9 aperture for 1/160 sec and ISO-100, 95mm focal length, sunlight WB and center weighted average.

The Palouse

I always enjoy the drive through the Palouse area of NW Idaho (when the weather is good). The rolling hills and rich farm lands are easy on the eyes. The shot of the lone tree hill top was shot with Canon Power Shot G12 shot one handed out of the truck window while I drove by...not my best shot setup but it worked out. Set on scene mode and landscape setting.

Opening

Gibson Park in Great Falls, MT is one or our favorite places to picnic or just walk and relax. The spring flowers were beginning to bloom so out came the camera. Taken with Canon 7D and Sigma 18-250mm lens. f/13 aperture for 1/320 sec exposure and ISO-100. 147mm focal length, sunlight WB and center weigthed average.

GO Vandals!

The beautiful U of I campus in Moscow Idaho. Each time we visit our son Kurt there we discover a little more of the fantastic grounds. This was taken walking through a wonderful arboretum on campus. Shot with Canon 7D and Sigma 18-250mm lens. f/6.3 aperture for 1/1600 sec at ISO-250, 80mm focal length, sunlight WB, center weighted average.

Truck

Heading to Spokane WA from Moscow ID we passed this great old farm truck along the road. The character and color really caught my eye. Pic taken with Canon 7D and Sigma 18-250mm lens. f/20 aperture for 1/60 sec at ISO-125, 35mm focal length, sunlight WB and center weighted average. Contrast and color saturation adjusted during post edit.

Grand Union lobby in Ft Benton, MT

To celebrate Tina's LPN graduation from MSU we drove to historic Ft Benton to the Grand union for a fantastic meal. The building was opened in 1888 and has remained open since. It serves as both hotel and restaurant with amazing fare. We all enjoyed the roasted duck breast! I took this shot using Canon power shot G12 in auto mode.
