What once boomed as the old mining companies sucked the mountains of their treasures now stand as skeletal monuments of a lost community. A few empty hulls stand on old main street in Marysville, MT I shot this with Canon 50D and Canon 50mm lens. ISO-100, f/11 at 1/40sec exposure and sunlight white balance setting.

Marysville, MT

I liked this because of its simple representation of mountain life in Montana. Shot using Canon 50D with Canon 50mm lens, ISO-100, f/11 at 1/100 sec exposure and sunlight white balance setting.

Nature's Pinata

This old hornets nest was hanging in a roadside tree and just begged to be snapped. I used a Canon 50D with Sigma 18-250mm DC OS HSM lens. ISO-100, f/11 for 1/80 sec at 210mm focal length.

Rocky Mountain front west of Choteau, MT

For this shot of the Rocky Mountains I used my Canon 50D with Sigma 18-250mm DC OS HSM lens. ISO-100, f/11 for 1/125 sec at a focal length of 43mm. I also used a circular polarizer to enhance the clouds and sky and left the white balance set at daylight setting.

Black Eagle dam frozen over

This was a neat shot opportunity at Black Eagle dam. Ice builds up in the winter and makes a really cool effect. I took this with Canon 50D and Sigma 18-250mm DC OS HSM lens. ISO-200, f/11 for 1/400 sec at 210mm focal length.

Frozen Missouri

I took this quick pic of a few hard core black ducks and hooded mergansers clinging to what little open water the bitter cold Missouri offers this time of year. This was shot with my Kodak Z712 point and shoot. ISO-64, f/4.5 for 1/500 sec at 21mm focal length. Contrast bumped up slightly in post edit to make the back ground trees pop a bit against the snow.

Cold Iron

By converting this original to black and white in post editing I was able to further capture the chill of this day. At 3 degrees it was a crisp morning and the contast of the iron bridge and fresh snow in B&W really has the visual of frigidness.

This was with Canon 50d with Sigma 10-20mm wide angle lens, f/11, ISO-200 for 1/160 sec and 20mm focal length.
